Members of an immigrant community say a spike in coronavirus cases in a Vermont city hit their tightly knit communities because a language barrier may have prevented some from knowing how to prevent the spread or getting tested.
Kamal Pradhan, a Bhutanese American, says he knows of roughly 40 in the Bhutanese community who have been infected with COVID-19.
Another Bhutanese American who lives in Winooski and is a landlord and community organizer said some of his tenants from the Congo have been infected.
They say many of the new Americans are now getting tested.
