Becket, Massachusetts dance center Jacob’s Pillow has canceled its annual summer festival for the first time in its 88-year history due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s just the latest arts world casualty of the disease in an area that relies on summer cultural tourism. WAMC spoke with Director Pamela Tatge about the cancellation and its impacts on the center’s staff and budget.

Josh Landes has been WAMC's Berkshire Bureau Chief since February 2018, following stints at WBGO Newark and WFMU East Orange. A passionate advocate for Western Massachusetts, Landes was raised in Pittsfield and attended Hampshire College in Amherst, receiving his bachelor's in Ethnomusicology and Radio Production. His free time is spent with his cat Harry, experimental electronic music, and exploring the woods.
