Dr. Alan Chartock's Morning Commentary

WAMC's Dr. Alan Chartock discusses reports that Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders narrowly won Tuesday's Democratic primary in New Hampshire.

Dr. Chartock also comments on where the rest of the Democratic presidential primary candidates stand going forward — including former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who now faces renewed criticism over his defense of stop-and-frisk policing. Meantime, tech entrepreneur Andrew Yang and Colorado Senator Michael Bennet have officially dropped out of the race, with former Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick expected to follow.

Dr. Alan Chartock is professor emeritus at the University at Albany. He hosts the weekly Capitol Connection series, heard on public radio stations around New York. The program, for almost 12 years, highlighted interviews with Governor Mario Cuomo and now continues with conversations with state political leaders. Dr. Chartock also appears each week on The Media Project and The Roundtable and offers commentary on Morning Edition, weekdays at 7:40 a.m.
