WAMC's Dr. Alan Chartock discusses the death of Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi over the weekend, and the resignation of Democratic Representative Katie Hill. 

Dr. Chartock also comments on the president's appearance at Game 5 of the World Series in Washington, the start of early voting in New York, and the ongoing wildfires in California.

The program, for almost 12 years, highlighted interviews with Governor Mario Cuomo and now continues with conversations with state political leaders. Dr. Chartock also appears each week on The Media Project and The Roundtable and offers commentary on Morning Edition, weekdays at 7:40 a.m.
