Two city of Albany employees were rushed to the emergency room with burn injuries on Tuesday afternoon after a gas pump exploded on city property.
The Albany Police Department says the explosion occurred at the Department of General Services headquarters on Connors Boulevard around 3:15 p.m.
A 64-year-old member of the Albany Fire Department was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center for treatment.
A 48-year-old supervisor for the Department of General Services was transported to Albany Medical Center and was later airlifted to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse for further treatment.
Albany Police and the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control are investigating.
