Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey, both Democrats, in Washington Thursday.

From Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s political struggles coming out of the government shutdown to sparring between Congresswoman Elise Stefanik and Gov. Kathy Hochul over in vitro fertilization, it was another eventful week in New York state politics. WAMC’s Andrew Waite got the download from the New York Public News Network’s Jimmy Vielkind.

Andrew Waite has worked as The Daily Gazette’s featured news columnist, an editor at Alaska Airlines magazine, and in community newspapers in Montana and Alaska.
