As animal shelters have had to limit their intake in recent years, municipalities have had to look farther afield to find shelters to house stray or missing animals. Ashley Jeffrey Bouck, CEO of the Mohawk Humane Society in Menands, says despite challenges, shelters like hers aim to be community resources. WAMC's Samantha Simmons sat down with Bouck for a conversation about all that goes into nonprofit animal care.
