Vermonters may receive emergency alerts on Wednesday as part of a test of the Emergency Alert System and the Wireless Emergency Alert System.
Vermont Emergency Management officials are notifying residents that a national emergency alert test is planned at 2:20 Wednesday afternoon.
The minute long routine test conducted by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Federal Communications Commission will be sent to television and radio stations.
A text message will also be sent to some mobile phone users who have opted to receive the tests.
