Saratoga Springs Public Safety Commissioner Robin Dalton announced this past week she’s running for a second two-year term on the city council, but she’s leaving the Republican Party first.

A self-described moderate, Dalton says she no longer fits in with the party, and will seek re-election without a party affiliation.

WAMC's Lucas Willard spoke with Dalton about her announcement.

Lucas Willard is a news reporter and host at WAMC Northeast Public Radio, which he joined in 2011. He produces and hosts The Best of Our Knowledge and WAMC Listening Party.
