Lobbyists To Push For Vaping Ban After NY Court Decision

wikipedia

After a New York judge ruled that the Cuomo Administration’s ban on flavored vape products overstepped its authority, advocates will lobby the state legislature to pass a bill to prevent sales of flavored tobacco products.

Last week, a state Supreme Court justice halted the emergency ban on e-cigarette products other than tobacco and menthol flavors.
In support of the ban imposed in September, Governor Andrew Cuomo has cited state Health Department data that shows nearly 40 percent of high school seniors and 27 percent of high school students are using vaping products.
Vaping-industry groups challenged the ban and requested the preliminary injunction against it.
On Monday, representatives of 40 public health groups are scheduled to gather in Albany to request state lawmakers ban the sale of all flavored tobacco products in both traditional and electronic forms.
