UPDATED: Winter Storm Moving Into Region

A winter storm is moving into the region. The National Weather Service is predicting the storm will bring heavy snow and high winds.

Winter Storm Warnings have been declared for the Capital Region and Lake George-Saratoga Region, the central and southern Adirondacks, east into southern  and central Vermont, Berkshires, northern portions of western and central Massachusetts, and western Connecticut, south into the Hudson Valley, northern New Jersey and northeast Pennsylvania, and west into the Mohawk Valley, Southern Tier and Central New York.

Up to a foot of snow is expected for most areas. Parts of the Catskills, Southern Vermont, Berkshires, and Mohawk Valley could see more than a foot of accumulation.

Southern areas including the Hudson Valley, southern Berkshire County, and western Connecticut may see freezing rain, causing slick conditions tonight and into Monday morning.

Moderate snow will spread into the region beginning later this morning and early this afternoon. Snow will become lighter by tonight and may mix with sleet. Periods of moderate to heavy snow are expected tomorrow and Monday night, ending by Tuesday morning.
