Groups Seek To Join Lawsuit Against EPA

Environmental advocacy groups are seeking to join a lawsuit several states have filed against the Environmental Protection Agency.
The Environmental Defense Fund, Sierra Club and the Adirondack Council have filed a motion with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit asking to be part of a lawsuit filed by New York State, New York City and New Jersey.

The EPA denied New York’s request for help under a Good Neighbor Provision of the Clean Air Act, which allows downwind states and local governments affected by interstate air pollution to petition the EPA for relief.

The advocacy groups are requesting intervener status in the lawsuit.
