The new book by Saratoga Springs police chief Greg Veitch

The City of Saratoga Springs today is known for its quaint, bustling downtown and tourist-friendly atmosphere. But that wasn’t always the case.

The city’s police chief Greg Veitch has written a new book on the city’s past as a haven for illegal gambling, crime, and a history possibly unknown to today’s summertime visitors and current residents.

WAMC’s Southern Adirondack Bureau Chief Lucas Willard spoke with Veitch about his new book “All The Law In The World Won’t Stop Them” during a presentation Friday evening at the Northshire Bookstore in Saratoga Springs.

Lucas Willard is a reporter and host at WAMC Northeast Public Radio, which he joined in 2011.
