Saratoga Springs Mayor Joanne Yepsen, a Democrat who is serving her second two-year term, is hinting at a run for a third. WAMC’s Lucas Willard reports a challenger has already entered the race.

Earlier this week former longtime Saratoga Springs City Center president Mark Baker announced his bid for mayor on the Republican ticket.

Joanne Yepsen, a Democrat, said she was focused on her current term, but touted what she said were efforts to make city government more inclusive and accessible.

“I feel that we’re definitely in sync with the majority of this community and we feel very good about another two years,” said Yepsen.

The Saratoga Springs Democratic Committee is set to meet to endorse a slate of candidates on May 20th.
