Schenectady Woman Allegedly Burned By Husband Dies

A Schenectady woman has reportedly succumbed to her injuries after being allegedly set on fire by her husband. Elizabeth Gonzales had been brought to the burn unit at Westchester Medical Center where she died.

Police told the Daily Gazette  Antonio Bargallo set Gonzales and their Elmer Street home on fire early Saturday morning.

Prior to Gonzales’ reported death, Bargallo was charged Sunday with attempted murder, assault in the First Degree, and arson in the Fourth Degree. Revised charges are likely forthcoming.

The city’s Arson Task Force is investigating.
