Lawmakers To Join Striking Workers At Momentive Plant

Democratic Assemblymembers John McDonald of Cohoes and Carrie Woerner of Round Lake will join striking workers at Momentive Performance Materials on Monday, February 6th

As environmental and labor groups are urging New York Governor Andrew Cuomo to help end a strike at a Saratoga County chemical plant, lawmakers from across the state are preparing to rally with workers on Monday.

Workers with IUE-CWA Local 359 at the Momentive Performance Materials plant in Waterford have been striking for three months.

On Monday at 10 a.m. Assemblymembers Carrie Woerner and John McDonald are scheduled to be joined by lawmakers from Buffalo, Queens and Rochester to show support for the striking workers.

The workers are protesting cuts to healthcare and pensions after Momentive was acquired by private equity firms.
