Family Member Identifies Body As Missing Woman

According to the Register-Star, a body found early Saturday morning in a wooded area in Kinderhook, New York was confirmed by a family member to be Halle Schmidt.

Schmidt, a 21-year-old Copake resident, was reported missing September 4th. She was last seen at a party on September 2nd.

The Columbia County Sheriff’s office and state police are investigating.

A vigil for Schmidt was scheduled Saturday night in Hudson.

An autopsy on the body was scheduled for Sunday.
