New York Republican Assemblyman Jim Tedisco is set to officially announce his candidacy for the 49th State Senate District later this morning. This comes after longtime State Senator Hugh Farley said last week he would not seek reelection this year. Farley is supporting Tedisco’s bid to succeed him. Currently the Democrats hold a majority in both the Senate and Assembly but Republicans maintain control of the Senate in an arrangement with breakaway Democrats.
