Amsterdam Mayor Ann Thane, a Democrat, is running for a third term against Republican challenger Mike Villa. During her tenure, Thane has focused much of her energy into improving the Montgomery County city's downtown and waterfront areas. WAMC's Southern Adirondack Bureau Chief Lucas Willard asked the mayor what she would do to bring change to the rest of the city of about 18,000 residents if reelected.
