A car has crashed into the front of an upstate New York diner at lunch hour, injuring seven people.
Schenectady Fire Chief Ray Senecal tells the Daily Gazette of Schenectady that a man backed a Ford Thunderbird through a wall at the Blue Ribbon Diner on State Street at about noon Tuesday.
A photo of the wreck shows the car lodged in the building as far back as the passenger seats as firefighters worked to rescue the driver.
Senecal said a woman walking behind the car was hit and pinned in the debris. She and the driver have been taken along with two others to a hospital. The names and conditions of the injured haven't been released.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
