A former Saratoga County official will plead guilty to felony charges in U.S. District Court Monday. The Times Union reports former Halfmoon town Melinda Wormuth faces federal charges of bribery, extortion, and lying to FBI officials. She is also expected to plead guilty to a separate charge of grand larceny for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars from a campaign account in Saratoga County Court at an unspecified date. That charge comes from State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman’s office. Prosecutors are expecting Wormuth to face a year in prison for the federal charges.
