According to the Warren County Sheriff's Office, emergency officials responded to a call at approximately 8:17  Saturday evening about a missing swimmer near the Sheppard's Park area of Lake George.

26-year-old Richmond N. Agbesi of the Bronx reportedly jumped off a pier while swimming with friends and failed to surface.

Police say the swimmer was located in around 10 feet of water. After resuscitation efforts at the scene, the man was transported to Glens Falls Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. An autopsy determined the cause of death to be drowning.

It was estimated the Agbesi had been underwater for about 50 minutes.
