WAMC's Brian Shields gets June's music picks from Nippertown's Greg Haymes.

1. Lonesome Val, "To Be Young," from her 1990 self-titled solo debut, playing tonight at The Hangar in Troy as part of the Sirens of Song concert with Ashley Sofia, Caroline MotherJudge and Olivia Quillio.

2. Albert Cummings, "Man On Your Mind," from his 2004 album True to Yourself, headlining the free Troy River Fest at Monument Square in Troy on June 20.

3. Marty Wendell, "A Real Good Run," the title track of his upcoming album; CD release party at the Little Theatre On the Farm is in Fort Edward at 7 p.m. on  June 20.

4. The Neanderthals, "Mascara, Miniskirts & Madness" from their 1998 album The Latest Menace to the Human Race, headlining the free Dad Fest, a new Father's Day festival at Jennings Landing in Albany's Corning Preserve on June 21.

5. Ryley Walker, "Primrose Green," the title track of his new album, playing on  June 27 at the Solid Sound Festival at MASS MoCA in North Adams; also playing at the BSP Lounge in Kingston on June 30.
