New Movie Profiles Jazz Pianist Lee Shaw

A new documentary being screened at two area theaters focuses on the life of a jazz legend from this region.   WAMC’s North Country Bureau Chief Pat Bradley talked to the filmmaker who chronicled the life of musician Lee Shaw.
    
She is an icon among jazz musicians.

88-year-old jazz pianist Lee Shaw, the region’s  “Queen of Jazz,” has inspired a new documentary Lee’s 88 Keys from producer and director Susan Robbins.

The documentary Lee’s 88 Keys will be shown tonight at the Spectrum Theatre in Albany and at the Lake Placid Film Forum on June 7th.
