NYPD Investigators Visit Washington County

Detectives from the New York Police Department have visited a rural upstate town as part of their investigation into the disappearance of a Queens man nearly 30 years ago.

The Post-Star of Glens Falls reports the NYPD detectives were in the Washington County town of Salem this week seeking information pertaining to Joseph Zarky, who was in his 30s when he disappeared in 1987.

The NYPD says a piece of property in Salem was once owned by a former associate of Zarky. Police say the associate doesn't live in Salem, located on the Vermont border 40 miles northeast of Albany.

The two officers from the missing persons squad also say the associate isn't considered a suspect or person of interest in the case.
