Brenda VanAlstyne, aunt of slain 5-year-old Kenneth White, was found guilty of neglecting White's two young sisters, ages 4 and 5. The judge ruled one of the victims was physically abused.
VanAlstyne was tried in Albany County Family Court on Friday.
VanAlstyne gained legal custody of the children in September. Her daughter, 20-year-old Tiffany VanAlstyne, is accused of murdering White and hiding his body in a snowbank outside their Albany County home in December.
The two girls were placed in foster care after the killing. VanAlstyne is due back in court on May 1st.
