With No Snow, Governor Can't Promote Snowmobiling

NY Governor's Office

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is canceling his trip to a popular snowmobiling destination because of the lack of snow.

The staff at the Ridge View Lodge in Lewis County says the governor and his entourage had planned to arrive Monday and rent about two dozen sleds so they could hit the area's extensive snowmobiling trails.

But with little or no snow in the region, Cuomo has called off those plans.

Lewis County contains part of the Tug Hill Plateau, a region popular with snowmobilers because it's typically New York's snowiest area.

Forecasts call for lake-effect snow showers starting Tuesday night and lasting into the weekend.
