Quail Street Homicide Under Albany Police Investigation

Albany police say a middle-aged woman was murdered inside a Quail Street home. She was found dead at 139 Quail Street Monday afternoon after officers were notified that there was an unresponsive female there. Albany police spokesman, Officer Steven Smith, did not identify the woman, say how she was killed or where she lived. The homicide comes in the wake of several shootings in the city over the past few weeks that claimed the lives of two men and wounded three others. Meanwhile, family and friends of the latest victim placed memorial candles at the corner of Quail and Benson streets Monday night but would not speak with members of the media.
