The New York State Gaming Commission has announced that it will appoint three individuals to sit on the state’s casino siting panel.

The Commission announced Thursday three new people to serve on the Resort Gaming Facility Location Board. The Board will be responsible for evaluating casino applications and determining who will be eligible for a full-scale casino license.

The Commission has announced that Paul Francis, a business executive who most recently has served as Chairman of the state’s s Spending and Government Efficiency Commission, Stuart Rabinowitz, president of Hofstra University, and former New York City Comptroller William Thompson will serve on the board.

Under the law, appointees cannot have any business or familiar relationships with an individual who holds a license under state Racing law, or have any financial involvement with any other state gaming operations.
