Canada Border Posts on Alert for Boston Suspect

Canadian border officials are on heightened alert after the disappearance and flight of one of the suspects in the Boston Marathon bombings.

Dominique McNeely, a spokesman for the Canada Border Services Agency, says Canadian officials are working closely with their U.S. counterparts.

McNeely says he couldn't provide details and it's unclear if people crossing the border by land would notice the heightened security.

Nineteen-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev disappeared early Friday after a shootout with police in Watertown, Mass. His brother, Tamerlan Dzhokhar, was killed.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection representatives in northern New England and in Buffalo referred questions about any heightened border security to the Department of Homeland Security in Washington.
