Albany, NY – Well Peyton Manning has been medically cleared by two doctors to resume his NFL career...

One of those doctors, Dr. Robert Watkins, had performed the most recent operation on the quarterback's neck. Colts owner Jim Irsay responded in a tweet, saying "Peyton has not passed our physical nor has he been cleared to play" by the Colts.

So Peyton Manning has been cleared to play, but it's his younger brother who still has a game to play. Eli Manning leads the Giants into Super Bowl 46 against the Patriots, in a rematch of Super Bowl 42 - which the Giants won 17-14. Super Bowl 46 kicks off this Sunday at 6:29 P.M.

To the NBA, Chicago edged the Knicks 105-102, Atlanta hammered Memphis 96-77, San Antonio got by New Orleans 93-83, Denver destroyed the Clippers 112-91, Golden State blew out Utah 119-101, and Sacramento sank Portland 95-92.

To the ice, Sam Gagner tallied four goals, added four assists, as Edmonton doubled up Chicago 8-4.

Elsewhere, Carolina shutout Boston 3-0, New Jersey dropped Montreal 5-3, Detroit downed Vancouver 4-3 in a shootout, Philadelphia skated past Nashville 4-1, San Jose held off Dallas 5-2, Winnipeg topped Tampa Bay 2-1, and Minnesota blanked Colorado 1-0.

And in soccer news, Egyptian police fired tear gas at thousands of demonstrators outside the Interior Ministry in Cairo. The protestors were angry over the security forces' failure to prevent a soccer riot Wednesday in Port Said that killed at least 74 people. Nearly 400 protesters were hurt during Thursday's clashes.
