Long Island Councilman Charged with Grand Larceny
Albany, NY – A Long Island politician has pleaded not guilty to grand larceny.
Long Beach City Councilman Michael Fagen is accused of concealing his government job from the state Department of Labor to collect more than $7,000 in unemployment benefits.
The Democrat could face up to seven years in prison if convicted.
His lawyer was not immediately available for comment.
