Albany, NY – Well the Bulls struck first in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference final...

In Chicago, league MVP Derrick Rose scored 28 points, and Luol Deng added 21, as the Bulls stormed Miami 103-82 in the series opener. Game 2 is Wednesday.

In Oklahoma City, Kevin Durant dropped in 39 as the Thunder knocked out Memphis 105-90 in Game 7. Oklahoma City advances to the Western Conference final against Dallas, which tips off tomorrow.

To the ice in Vancouver, Henrik Sedin's tally halfway through the third snapped a 2-2 tie, lifting the Canucks over San Jose 3-2, in the opener of the Western Conference final. Game 2 is Wednesday.

To baseball, where the brooms were out in the Bronx... David Ortiz's solo shot put the Red Sox ahead for good, as they finished off a weekend sweep of the Yankees with a 7-5 win.

Elsewhere in the AL, Jose Bautista homered three times as Toronto ripped Minnesota 11-3, Baltimore hammered Tampa Bay 9-3, the White Sox topped Oakland 4-3, and Texas downed the Angels 5-4.

Over to the NL... In Houston, Justin Turner homered and drove in five, powering the Mets over the Astros 7-4.

Elsewhere, Cincinnati outlasted St. Louis 9-7, Atlanta edged Philadelphia 3-2, Washington doubled up Florida 8-4, Milwaukee dumped Pittsburgh 9-6, and Arizona beat the Dodgers 4-1.

In NHL news... Derek Boogaard's family has donated his brain to researchers who will check for damage that might have resulted from his career as an enforcer. The 28-year-old Rangers' winger was found dead in his Minneapolis apartment on Friday.

In golf, K.J. Choi edged David Toms on the first playoff hole to win The Players Championship.

And in Dover, Matt Kenseth took the checkered flag in the NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Dover International Speedway.
