Albany, NY – Optimism is the buzzword among area business leaders - this week the UAlbany School of Business in conjunction with Marvin and Company PC released the 24th Annual Regional Business Climate Survey. Capital District Bureau Chief Dave Lucas reports.

900 businesses responded to the survey, and judging by their input, the regional economy is on the rebound. Kevin McCoy is CPA and director at Marvin and Company: he says the major concern expressed this year is the cost of health care. The second major concern is the national economy and its effect on the local economy. Concerns over taxes were third. McCoy points out the optimism shone thru in the number of respondents who projected their business would increase in the coming year. The Business Climate Survey is regarded as a relatively accurate gauge of regional business attitudes. The consenus among the businesses that responded to the survey : while 2009 was a rough year, 2010 will be much better for commerce.
