Albany, Ny – The Albany 2030 project is underway... Capital District Bureau Chief Dave Lucas reports on the effort to develop a comprehensive plan for New York's Capital City.

The project kicked off with three public meetings, workshop sessions theta heralded the start of a 12-month process offering the public numerous oportunities for input. Albany 2030 has its own website, where a "comprehensive plan" is defined as a "guiding document" - written to help the City plan for future change. Albany already has launched planning initiatives, including housing initiatives and studies as well as economic, neighborhood revitalization and economic development plans. Three meetings were held last week and the schedule calls for the next round of public meetings to be held April 22nd, 23rd and 24th of public meetings, online polling and what city officials describe as a "leadership visioning event". In addition to the online campaign, workers will distribute thousands of fliers door-to-door and promote the meetings among neighborhood groups.
