Troy, NY – Leading New York lawmakers agreed late Wednesday to heed a call by 17 of the state's leading research institutions to create a state stem cell research fund. While lawmakers decide how much money to dedicate to the research, scientists and researchers in the Capital Region are already making major progress in a field they say could have major medical and economic benefits.
