New England Needs to Take More Aggressive Action re: Global Warming

Plattsburgh, NY – The Kyoto accord took effect at Midnight eastern time. Signed in 1997 and ratified by 140 countries - excluding the US. Although the US did not ratify the treaty, there are efforts at the regional level to reduce greenhouse gasses. In 2001 the New England states agreed to cut global warming pollution by aggressively capping carbon dioxide emissions from power plants. But a new report says those efforts are moving too slowly and not as aggressively as promised. WAMC's Pat Bradley reports.
