Albany, NY – Assisted living facilities provide independent living for elder people while providing personal care and health services. Until now, there has been no legal definition in New York of just what constitutes an assisted living facility. This week, the New York State legislature passed legislation to codify the industry and implement consumer protections. North Country Bureau Chief Pat Bradley reports.
