Among the many nonprofit organizations that have struggled financially during the pandemic is the Zoo at Forest Park in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Revenues were greately reduced last season because of a delayed opening date, capacity restrictions, and the cancellation of money-making special events.
The zoo survived the winter when its gates were closed and reopened last weekend for a new season.
WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill spoke with the zoo’s executive director Sarah Tsitso.
