Vermont Governor Phil Scott attended a youth summit on Thursday and highlighted the students’ comments during his COVID briefing on Friday.
The virtual youth summit featured about two dozen students discussing the impact of the pandemic on their lives. Governor Phil Scott said the students echoed what has often been said at his briefings: kids are struggling through the pandemic. “Several had this advice for adults: Don’t forget about their mental, social and emotional well-being. Listen to them. Talk to them. Help them grieve and heal the year they’ve lost. Don’t sweep it under the rug.”
