In a lighter moment during his regular Friday press conference, Governor Phil Scott received a briefing from his Agriculture Secretary on the ingredients in a creemee – an ice cream cone ubiquitous in Vermont.
A reporter earlier in the week challenged whether the Vermont treat was real dairy.  Governor Scott accepted the challenge and asked Agriculture Secretary Anson Tebbetts to research and verify the ingredients in a typical Vermont creemee.  “Our extensive modeling shows Vermont creemees are made with milk, sugar, cream from Vermont cows. Creemees run in Vermonters’ veins.”

Tebbetts said there are more than 670 frozen desert licenses on file at the Agency of Agriculture Food and Markets.
