2020 Big E Is Canceled Because Of The Pandemic

ESE

Another big event has been canceled because of the pandemic.

The Big E will not be held in 2020.

The largest agricultural fair in the Northeast drew more than 1.6 million visitors last year to the West Springfield, Massachusetts fairgrounds.

It is the first time the fair has been cancelled since World War II.

WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill spoke with Big E President and CEO Gene Cassidy.

The record-setting tenure of Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno. The 2011 tornado and its recovery that remade the largest city in Western Massachusetts. The fallout from the deadly COVID outbreak at the Holyoke Soldiers Home. Those are just a few of the thousands and thousands of stories WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill has covered for WAMC in his nearly 17 years with the station.
