Great Barrington, Massachusetts is holding a joint meeting between its finance committee and select board next week on next year’s town budget.

The two bodies will discuss the proposed $12.2 million fiscal year 2021 budget. The capital budget of $5 million would be down 41.6% from fiscal year 2020, but the town’s wastewater treatment plant budget would rise almost 11%. The proposed school district assessment stands at $17.6 million.

“It’s a continuation of the budget process. Hopefully this will be our last meeting and wrap up, where we’ll make recommendations for the public hearing and then for the town meeting,” said Select board chair Steve Bannon.

The annual town meeting is set for May 4th and May 7th. The budget will be voted on on the first night. For more on the proposed Great Barrington 2021 budget, click here.
