A woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend at their shared apartment in Vermont has pleaded not guilty.
Amanda Zanis pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to attempted second-degree murder and first-degree aggravated domestic assault in the alleged stabbing of Pete Juricek on Sept. 12 in White River Junction.
The Valley News reports a judge ordered the 38-year-old Zanis be held without bail and have no contact with Juricek.
According to an affidavit, Zanis said she stabbed Juricek as he sexually assaulted her, but police found inconsistencies in her story. The affidavit says she stabbed Juricek after he told her he was getting back together with his ex-wife.
Juricek suffered a collapsed lung, a stab wound to his left shoulder area and a bite mark to his right shoulder area.
