Facebook: Pittsfield Police Department

The Pittsfield, Massachusetts police department says one of its cruisers was involved in a collision.

According to the PPD, the collision occurred Thursday evening when Officer Matthew Killeen was driving through the intersection of North, East, West, and South Streets at the city’s core. His lights were reportedly on as he was responding to a call for service. While traveling north through the intersection, the PPD says, he collided with a car driven by a Cheshire resident. Both are said to have suffered minor injuries and were transported to Berkshire Medical Center. The PPD says the incident is being investigated by the Patrol Division Supervisors and the Traffic Bureau.
