Regulators Want Utility To Clarify Increases To Customers

Vermont regulators want the state's largest utility to describe to its customers all of the changes they may see on their bills in the fall.
Green Mountain Power has proposed increasing rates 2.92 percent each year for the next three years starting October 1. Customers will see an increase because GMP says a tax credit provided to customers will end and two other expenses will be added, all at the same time.

In a letter to GMP this week, the state Public Utility Commission said it was "concerned" customers may not be getting all the details about the increases in a draft notice.

A GMP spokeswoman says the company has reworded the notice.
