The North Adams, Massachusetts city council has put off a final vote on the 2020 budget.

City Council President Keith Bona says the delay isn’t due to any opposition with line items; rather, it’s because of a formatting issue.

“Traditionally, the council will get the budget in a format that the finance committee will read to the council off every department, and then we vote on the departments individually,” he explained to WAMC.

The council did not receive the budget in that format on June 11th, so it will now hear and vote on the final budget draft at its June 25th meeting – the last meeting before the new fiscal year starts July 1st.
