Great Barrington Election Ushers In New Leaders

Results of Tuesday’s town elections in Great Barrington, Massachusetts are in. 

Challenger Leigh Davis easily unseated Dan Bailly for a seat on the town selectboard, while incumbent chair Stephen Bannon was the top vote getter with 815 supporting his bid for a fourth three-year term.

Meredith O’Connor won her first three-year term on the town’s finance board with 806 votes, defeating third-place finisher and incumbent Walter Atwood III, who got 506 votes. Fellow finance board incumbent Thomas Blauvelt came in second with 731 votes.

Eileen Mooney pushed Karen Smith out of her seat as chair of the housing authority by a vote of 703 to 451.

A ballot question concerning raising the tax levy to fund infrastructure projects passed.
