Residents Offer Reward For Information On Racist Graffiti

Vermont residents have donated up to $1,000 as a reward for information regarding a series of racist graffiti spray-painted in Bennington.
The first incident happened last week when police say someone broke a window at the Oldcastle Theatre in Bennington and dripped a red substance to write "white power" on a table outside.

Police say the same phrase was discovered spray painted in black on a recreation center Monday, and it was found painted on a fence near a motel Tuesday.

Bennington Police Chief Paul Doucette says while he is not a handwriting expert, it appears the vandalism at the rec center and the fence is connected.

He says it is unclear if those instances are linked to the Oldcastle vandalism.
