Some Vermont residents plan to continue with a lawsuit over the sale of municipal telecommunications company Burlington Telecom despite the City Council's approval.
The Vermont Public Utility Commission approved the sale last week and the Burlington City Council voted 11-1 Monday to allow the proposed $30.8 million sale of Burlington Telecom to Schurz Communications to move forward.

WCAX-TV reports that the sale is now heading to Mayor Miro Weinberger for approval.

City Councilor Max Tracy voted against the measure. He says he was against the purchase agreement from the beginning.

A group of six residents says it is making changes to legal documents before filing a lawsuit over the sale.

It is seeking Burlington Telecom to pay $17 million to taxpayers.
